Preliminary results from the CRTA observation mission show a major political shift in Serbia. The opposition Student List won 51.47 percent of the vote in the snap parliamentary election. Aleksandar Vucic's United Serbia list secured 40.42 percent.
President Vucic publicly admitted defeat based on sample counts. He stated that the Student List will win around 140 parliamentary seats, while his coalition will hold roughly 105. Vucic rejected various past accusations against his government and promised to lead a strong opposition. He also anticipated political pressure and indicated that relations with Sarajevo and Republika Srpska will change.
