BiH Delegate Denounces Celebration of War Criminal Ratko Mladić

Džemal Smajić, a delegate in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, criticized Serbia for celebrating convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić. Smajić noted Mladić committed severe war crimes and genocide in BiH. In contrast, BiH builds memorials for his victims, like the one in Mušići, Višegrad. There, Mladić's army killed 29 people, including minors and the elderly.

Smajić stated that Serbia identifies with these criminals by honoring their deeds. He stressed that BiH remembers these events. He called the policy of glorifying criminals in Belgrade and Banja Luka cowardly. Smajić highlighted that no honorable army executes prisoners. He concluded that the only European army convicted of genocide after World War II was politically commanded from Belgrade. He called Belgrade and Banja Luka's pride in this a "shame."
