OSCE Cautions Against Rhetoric Threatening Bosnia's Unity
The OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina strongly supports the Dayton Peace Agreement and the BiH Constitution. The OSCE stated that calls to dissolve Bosnia and Herzegovina or its entities violate the Dayton Agreement. Such rhetoric threatens BiH's stability and regional peace. The Mission urged all political leaders to avoid divisive language and actions that increase tensions, including ethnic divisions. Instead, they should focus on progress for all citizens.
This message followed Serbia and Republika Srpska's observance of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and National Flag Day. Some RS politicians used this day to discuss possible unification between RS and Serbia. Banja Luka Mayor Draško Stanivuković called this unification a "sacred Serbian word" to achieve. Stanivuković is also a candidate for RS Prime Minister.
