SDA Challenges Republika Srpska Ban on Army of RBiH Symbols

The SDA party will appeal to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This appeal challenges new changes in Republika Srpska's Criminal Code. These changes ban symbols of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The SDA prepared this appeal. They expected the Republika Srpska Constitutional Court to reject a request from the Bosniak Caucus. The appeal will be filed when the Republika Srpska court's decision is public.

The SDA argues that banning Army of RBiH symbols violates the BiH Constitution. The Army of RBiH was Bosnia and Herzegovina's only legal armed force. The party accuses Milorad Dodik's regime of trying to change history and portray victims as aggressors.

The SDA stresses that no moral reason exists to challenge Army of RBiH symbols. Its leadership was not convicted of war crimes. In contrast, parts of the Republika Srpska Army and police, and its political leadership like Radovan Karadžić, were convicted. The SDA believes Dodik's followers cannot alter these facts.
