Zurich Hosts Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Event
Hundreds gathered in Zurich on July 11, 2027, for the International Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide. Glas za Bosnu organized the event. It included officials, religious leaders, and civil society members. Guests like Zurich City Council member Balthasar Gleättli and Manjača camp survivor Faik Basarić attended.
Speakers emphasized remembering the Srebrenica genocide and other mass crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They said memory is vital to fight denial and revisionism. An exhibition showcased topics such as the Srebrenica genocide, mass graves, and crimes in Višegrad and Prijedor. It also highlighted the UN resolution on July 11. Anti-Bosnian policies and the glorification of war criminals were condemned.
Senad Ušanović, president of Glas za Bosnu, called for international support for Bosnia and Herzegovina as a unified state. He urged strong opposition to genocide denial and the glorification of criminals. Ušanović also asked for continued remembrance of the Holocaust and an end to violence in Palestine. The event concluded with the raising of Bosnia and Herzegovina's flags.
