International Artists Commemorate Srebrenica in Skopje

An event took place in Skopje's City Park on July 15. It marked the end of the International Art Colony "Srebrenica 2026." The Bosniak National Council (BNV) in North Macedonia organized it. The art colony ran from July 10 to July 15. Artists from many countries displayed their works. They honored the victims of the Srebrenica genocide through art.

Academic Prof. Dr. Fehim Husković leads the art colony. He expressed satisfaction that Skopje has hosted many artists. These artists come from the Balkans and beyond. Their art reminds people of the Srebrenica genocide. It honors victims and promotes peace and unity. Husković said art is a universal language. It preserves truth and builds friendship among nations.

The BNV President stated their group marks July 11. This is the day of remembrance for Srebrenica victims. He explained the colony's goal. It is to ensure the genocide of July 1995 never happens again. He noted that the artworks remind people of the genocide and its victims forever. Artists from several countries, including North Macedonia, Kosovo, Turkey, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, took part.
