War Criminal Dario Kordić Accused of Falsifying Ahmići Verdict

Recent statements by Dario Kordić and his supporters claim he was not convicted or responsible for the Ahmići massacre. They argue that he did not personally pull the trigger. However, these claims manipulate legal facts and twist historical truth.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague sentenced Dario Kordić to 25 years in prison. The Ahmići massacre, on April 16, 1993, was a central part of his conviction. Over 100 Bosniak civilians, including 32 women and 11 children, were brutally killed there.

The Tribunal found Kordić responsible for planning, encouraging, and ordering the attack on Ahmići. This was part of a wider ethnic cleansing campaign in the Lašva Valley. Kordić was a key political leader of the Croatian Community of Herceg-Bosna. He had power and made decisions about military attacks.

Court rulings confirm that Ahmići had no legitimate military targets. The village was undefended and offered no organized resistance. Kordić is now changing court facts, reducing the number of dead, and claiming Ahmići was a military target. A criminal complaint will be filed against him for this. Murat Tahirović, president of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide, says such actions insult victims and demonstrate why convicted war criminals should not receive early release.
